THE BENEFITS OF DOUBLE GLAZING.

A++ RATED FOR ENERGY EFFICIENCY.

Everest A+ double and A++ triple glazed windows are highly energy-efficient, keeping your home warmer and helping reduce energy bills. The multi-chamber profile prevents heat escaping and Low-E glass reflects heat back into your home, while Argon gas between the window panes, blocks out cold air to eliminate draughts.

EXCEEDS BRITISH SECURITY STANDARDS.

Fitted with multi-point locks, key-locking handles and optional toughened glass, Everest windows exceed British security standards and meet 'Secured by Design' Police approval. For improved security, internal glazing bead prevents removal of glass from outside and uPVC windows can also be fitted with GrabLock, our most secure lock developed with lock experts Yale.

FAQs

Choosing new double glazing can be a daunting task, so to help you here are some popular FAQs which you might find useful.

  • +
How long does double glazing last?
Typically, the lifetime of double glazing is around 20 years. This can vary depending on the quality of materials used, the installation and where the windows themselves are situated. At Everest we offer comprehensive guarantees as standard for all new windows (some elements can be guaranteed for a lifetime), offering peace of mind and allowing you to enjoy your purchase for years to come.
  • +
    What is double glazing?
Double-glazed windows comprise of two panes of glass that are separated by a spacer bar. The layer of air or gas sandwiched between the panes provides an insulation barrier against noise and heat loss, helping you to maintain a warmer, quieter home.
  • +
How does double glazing reduce noise?
Using double glazing in your home can reduce the energy of sound waves and help reduce the volume of external noise from entering your home. By coupling double glazed units with Acoustic glass you can increase sound proofing further. This can make a significant difference when you suffer with noise pollution.
  • +
Will new double glazing stop condensation?
Condensation is caused by a temperature inversion (a balance in temperatures) where one surface is at a different temperature to another. New windows can sometimes make condensation problems worse, by cutting out draughts (ventilation), though double glazing exclusively is not the cause. You can reduce the risk of condensation by ventilating moisture bearing air to the outside, and heating your home appropriately.
  • +
    Can double glazing be repaired?
Double glazing units can be repaired but more often than not they will be replaced. However, it is recommended that a professional window fitter carries out the work. Windows in need of repair will be easy to spot. If condensation appears on the inside of the glass sealed unit or it appears misty and foggy, this is a clear indicator that the unit has failed.
  • +
Can you use double glazing for a green house?
Double glazing is an excellent long-term investment for your green house, though the more expensive option. Double glazed green houses, are extremely popular with gardening enthusiasts as they are efficient and can cut the cost of heating by half. Additionally, they are much better for growing all year round due to the ability to retain heat in comparison to single pane or plastic green houses.
  • +
    Does double glazing reduce condensation?
Condensation is caused by a temperature inversion (a balance in temperatures) where one surface is at a different temperature to another. Dependant on spacer bar type and heat transfer across the unit will be dependent on whether condensation will be formed. The more efficient composite spacer bar and an argon filled sealed unit will drastically reduce the chances of condensation and cool spots around a window forming.
