An Everest porch offers many great benefits

Secure door

More secure

A solid porch adds an extra layer of security to your home. Add the fact we use toughened glass in our double glazed units as standard and reinforced hinges, you can rest assured knowing that the front of your home will be more secure than ever before.

Extra space to fit your needs

At Everest, we believe a porch should be able to cater for more than just your mail. So whether you desire a small expansion to your entrance for storage or a more traditional porch with space to sit and pull on boots or dry the dog, we can meet your needs and create the perfect porch for your home.

Extra space
Bespoke to you

Made especially for you

Our bespoke range of porches are made-to-measure for a perfect fit and will complement the aesthetics of your home. We can even match the front door to a new garage door to complement the style of your home. There’s a range of roof styles to choose from, so the porch can either make a statement or blend in as though it’s always been there. And they’re also incredibly easy to maintain and will never rot, flake, rust or fade.

Guaranteed for peace of mind

We offer a range of comprehensive guarantees against fog, condensation and discolouration. Plus, our guarantees are transferrable should you sell your property.

Choosing a new porch can be a daunting task, so to help you here are some popular FAQs which you might find useful.

  • +
Do I need planning permission for a porch?
Planning permission is not always required for a porch. It will be dependent on the size, height and construction required. That said, we always advise you check with your local authority before contracting building work. Failure to do so could be a costly mistake.
  • +
How big can you build a porch without planning permission?
In most local authorities, you don’t need planning permission as long as the area does not exceed three square metres, is not more than three metres above ground level or within two metres of any boundary and highway. For anything outside these, a full planning application will be necessary.
  • +
    Does a porch need foundations?
If you are looking to add a porch to your property, then it is imperative that it has the correct foundations. In addition you will need to ensure that the junctions between the walls of the porch and those of the existing building are properly sealed.
  • +
Should a porch be the same colour as your house?
There is no rule of thumb when it comes to the colour of your porch. That said, you need to be mindful of kerb appeal and the surrounding areas. We would advise regarding the home improvements of your neighbours to ensure your own are in keeping with the neighbourhood.
  • +
    What is a portico porch?
A portico porch is one that is leading to the entrance of a building or extended with a roof structure over a walkway. This type of porch is not widely used in ancient Greece and has influenced many Western cultures.
  • +
Can you replace the glass in a patio door?
The short answer is yes you can replace the glass in a patio door. However, replacing the glass can be a costly process. Typically, it will cost more to replace the entire plane for a patio door as the sheet of glass is much larger than the average glass door panel or window. In this scenario, it may be best to replace the whole door.
