We take every effort to ensure they are as efficient as possible with 20mm Argon filled glazing gap, draught-resistant seals, Low-E glass and a warm-edge spacer bars. There’s even triple glazing recommended for north facing openings.

    Do you need planning permission for French doors?
    You do not need planning permission to install French doors, as they are covered under permitted development rights. However, it is always advisable to check with your local authority if you are unsure, if you live in a listed building or in a conservation area.

    Do I need a lintel for French doors?
    Most windows and door openings will have some form of lintel. These are put in place to provide strength at weaker points within a building (above apertures). Lintel failure within a home can cause serious structural problems. Therefore, it is important that the condition of any existing lintels are checked be a professional before installing new windows.

    How long does it take to install French doors?
    It can take up to ½ a day to install French doors. However, this does depend on the size and complexity of the design you have chosen. Simple frames with hinged panels are easy to manufacture and install.

    Can French doors be reversed?
    The short answer is no. French doors cannot be reversed, at least not without significant work being done. Even if the work was carried out correctly, it is quite possible it would invalidate your warranty.
